Bangkok Travel Guide: LEMONTEA Hotel

Bangkok is no doubt the best getaway destination for Singaporeans, especially students. Why? That's mainly because it is pocket-friendly, and it is basically a shopping and food heaven. Scrumptious authentic Thai food such as Phad Thai going for only S$1.80, is enough to make me fly back again.

Tim and I decided to make our virgin trip to Bangkok early this March. Since it was a last minute decision, we had merely a week to make bookings for our flight and accommodation.

I was looking for a hotel located in the Pratunam area as most of the popular malls, street food, and night markets can be found there. Most importantly, I wanted a hotel which is affordable.

Tim's Thai friend recommended LEMONTEA Hotel to us. A quick search showed excellent ratings on Agoda.com (8.1/10) as well as Booking.com (8.3/10).

After verifying the accuracy of those ratings via actual guests reviews on various websites, and looking at original photos of the hotel taken by the guests, we booked for 5 nights.

Total Cost: S$381.95 (S$76.39/night)
*Note that we booked this rather last minute, so rates may be higher than usual.*

It is only 10 minutes walk away from Platinum Fashion Mall, and approximately 15 minutes walk away from 2 BTS stations (main mode of train transport in Bangkok). May not be a perfect location, but it is away from all the hustle and bustle. Best part? Street food available conveniently at the different "Sois" (streets) nearby, and a 7 Eleven right at its doorstep.

We checked-in late as Tim's flight delayed. Like mentioned by other travelers, we were served with ice-cold lemon tea upon our arrival - which was really sweet and smoothing btw. Check-in process was fast, and I was really impressed by how fluently the staff could converse in English. On top of that, they were really very friendly and helpful as well. +99999 points

Best lemon tea I had so far. Please consider selling them!

We were given Room 412. I remember being very impressed with the security system of this budget hotel - lifts will only operate if your key card is with you, and it automatically sends the lift to your room level. Mind.blown.

Very clean and neat room filled with basic necessities.

The rooms were cleaned every day, amenities replenished accordingly, and fresh towels provided daily as well. Free WiFi is also available within the room, however it is rather weak. I had to post most of my Instagram photos at the lobby instead #firstworldpains

What I LOVE about LEMONTEA Hotel is definitely their service and attitude. They are courteous and efficient. On top of that, they also helped us to hail for Tuk Tuks and cabs when we were feeling lazy.

Oh! And they have a really photogenic hotel front which we unfortunately did not manage to get a picture of. Perfect for the little models in us girls. Don't deny okay. Please refer to the photos I got from the hotel's website.

 DAMN CHIO RIGHT
